When I’m inserting an image, what information do I need to fill in on the Insert/edit Image page?

Image URL. This url is the location of the image on your image server or, if you uploaded the image to Mustang List, it’s the location of the image on Mustang List’s server (the Image URL you should’ve noted, as suggested above).

Image Description. Enter the Alt Tag—this is the text that will appear when a reader scrolls over the image or when the images are turned off. You should use this space to reinforce the message of your email, not to merely provide a verbal description of the image.

Alignment. If the image is large and fills in the entire section you’ve allotted for it, you won’t see much difference among the choices. If the image is on the small side, play around with the different options until you find the alignment you prefer. (To go back and change alignment, you merely select the image in the email, click again on the tree icon for insert/edit image, and then change the alignment choice in the Insert/Edit Image screen that appears.)

Dimensions. Enter the dimensions you wish the image to have if it’s not already the correct dimension. Remember to keep in mind the original dimensions as you can distort the image if you do not adjust the size relative to the original proportions. You can also adjust image size by clicking on the image in the email and dragging a corner until it reaches the size you desire.

Border. If you wish to have a black border appear around the image, enter the number of pixels wide you would like the border to be. If you enter “1” a fine line will appear around the image. Values greater than one will result in a thicker line. You might need to change the value a few times to achieve the desired effect.

Vertical and Horizontal Space. Vertical and horizontal space create a sort of buffer around the image—basically making the image larger by adding an invisible border. This is useful if you place the image near text as there will be some room around the image to prevent the text from coming right up onto the image.

Click Update to save changes. To exit or cancel without making any changes click Cancel. You’ll be returned to the message creation page where you can resume creating your email.
