Go to List and click Categories. You’ll see a list of your current
categories.
Next to each category is an Action column with links to Edit or
Delete the category.
Click Delete if you want to remove the category. The subscribers
that are in this category will not be deleted from the system.
Click Edit if you want to change the category name, or if you want
to change the Active or Private status.
A category that is Active is ready to use and can have addresses
assigned to it. A category that is not Active is not able to be used in as much
as addresses can not be added to it. You might create a category that is not
Active because you are not yet ready to use the category. Or you might convert
an Active category to inactive if you do not want to continue to put
subscribers in the category—if you you want the category “cut off” from new
members, so to speak.
Tick the Private checkbox if this is a category that you do not
want your subscribers to see on the Subscriber Update page. Subscribers can
link to the Subscriber Update page from your emails when you enable the
Subscriber Change Link when sending a message. See the KB article for Setting
