This can be useful if you have a handful of email addresses to exclude from a mailing. You could set up a category with the intention of excluding that category, but if you allow your categories to be viewed on the Subscriber Update Page then the “exclude” category would appear on this customer-facing page, which is not ideal. You’re better off pasting the handful of addresses (separated by commas) into the Exclude field provided under Advanced on the Send Message page.
