There are two ways to assign members to a category. You can
manually add subscribers to a category or add subscribers to a category by
importing a file.
To manually add a subscriber to a category, go to
Subscribers and click on Manage Subscribers. Click on Edit for the individual
member you’d like to add to the list. When you’re on the Add or Edit Subscriber
page, click on the category you’d like to add the member to. Ctrl-click to add
the member to multiple categories. Click Save Changes.
You can also add members to a category when you import a
.csv file. Go to Subscribers and select Import Subscribers from CSV File. After
Browsing for the CSV file and clicking to upload the file, you have an option
to assign the addresses to a category. Choose the category you wish to assign
the addresses to. You can only add addresses to one category at a time.
If you want to add a large group of members that are
currently on your list to a new category you have to first export the members
to a CSV file (see our KB article on Exporting to CSV). Make any necessary
adjustments to the exported file (remove any members you don’t want to add to
the new category, for example). Import the adjusted file of members as
described above and select the category you wish to add them to. The members in
the Mustang List database will be updated and will be added to the new category
you selected. They will not be duplicated in the system.
