MustangList.com Knowledge Base .: 4 - Messages .: Manage Messages .: How do I set up a new message?

How do I set up a new message?

  1. Go to Messages and click Manage Messages.
  2. Click on the Add a New Message button.
  3. For Message Type leave the default “One-Time” selected.
  4. Enter a Subject.
  5. Create a message in the Message field. There are three ways to do this: (see the Knowledge base for detailed instruction)
    • Use your own HTML
    • Create a message using the WYSIWYG HTML editor
    • Create a message using a Mustang List Template—in which case, in step 2, above, you’d have clicked the button for Add a New Message Using a Template
  6. Click the Save Changes button to save your message. Do this periodically to avoid losing any work to the message.
  7. Preview the message before sending it: click Save Changes and Preview button. Another window will open with the message you are Previewing. Be sure that everything is exactly the way you want it to appear.
  8. Close this window to exit Preview. You’ll be returned to the Add or Edit an Email Message screen.
  9. Once your new email message is added and saved (a red message above the Save Changes buttons at the top of the page will confirm this) you can leave the screen to go to the Send Message page or leave to do other work in the system. If you are ever in doubt about recent changes being saved, click Save Changes and wait until you see the red “email was updated” message.
